No matter if you’re an experienced rider or not accidents can happen, so if you’re thinking of motorbike rental in Krabi, here are some things you should know first.

Often riders can turn without looking, pass others on a double yellow line, driving without a taillight etc. If you expect people to drive perfectly in Thailand you’re in for a little surprise. The local drivers in Krabi get by find but you have to anticipate some surprises to make sure you’re ready to react. So after you get your motorbike rental secured and have gotten out onto the road, remember one thing SLOW DOWN! Most of our motorbikes can reach speeds over 100km/hr. That doesn’t mean you should be testing the bikes to these limits. Please when you take a bike for motorbike rental and intend to keep it in good condition, done go super fast, we usually take our bike stop 70 Km/hr max on local roads, on large roads for short distances we can reach speeds of 100Km/hr for short periods of time.
Always wear a helmet - Every motorbike rental that leaves our shop comes fully equipped up to 2 helmets (plus other items if ordered) this kind of goes without saying but just thought we wold add it to remind everyone. Also when your driving in Thailand it is mandatory that you wear your helmets at all times. We encourage this and tell all of our clients when you leave with one of our motorbike rentals. In Krabi the police set up occasional road blocks where they stop all cars and bike coming through, check documents and that all drivers are wearing their helmets. If you choose to not use one of the helmets provided with your motorbike rental then you could receive a fine up to 500thb/rider.
Always check your mirrors - At all times while you have your motorbike rental you need to be aware of what’s going on around you. You need to know who is coming up and going to try and overtake you while your riding, thats why it’s important to always check your mirrors. Driver are a little unpredictable so when you have a motorbike rental in Krabi you need to always be vigilant in keeping your surroundings known.
T Junction stops - When you are driving a motorbike rental on a main road and you see a side road intersecting always slow down! Many times in Thailand drivers slow down but don’t stop when they are merging onto a main road, so keep this is mind when you’re intersecting another road. Give incoming drivers space to merge even if you don’t see them coming, do this by moving off the roads shoulder and a little out into the main lane, also slow down your motorbike rental!
